Since its establishment in November of 1959 by the Canadian United Mission and United Methodist Church of America as ‘Wonju United Christian Hospital’, the Yonsei University Wonju Severance Hospital has contributed greatly in providing high quality healthcare service to the communities in the central region of Korea.

The Wonju Severance Christian Hospital, which was opened as 50-bed hospital under the name of ‘Wonju Unified Christian Hospital’ having its roots in Seomigam Hospital existed 104 years ago, has been making continuous efforts to improve the quality of the medical care with collaboration of the college of medicine, nursing and dental hygiene who prepare students to take their places as the future leaders of medicine.

In addition, as the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Designated Hospital which is recognized both regionally and internationally, the Wonju Severance Christian Hospital offers the best health care with excellent medical staffs and the most advanced medical equipments and technology as well as the improved hospital environment. The medical staffs are doing their best to provide the best service that is most convenient and comfortable to patients and stakeholders while creating trustable hospital environment at the same time.
